What does my Styku subscription include, and why do I need one?
Your Styku subscription keeps your scanner’s software license active. Without it, Styku Studio stops working and you cannot perform scans. The subscription is tied to your scanner (not to individual staff members), and your whole team uses the scanner under one plan.
Why is a subscription required?
Section titled “Why is a subscription required?”Styku Studio requires an active, validated license to run. That license is maintained through your subscription. If your subscription lapses, the software becomes inaccessible until a subscription is reinstated. No individual trainer or staff member needs their own license; one subscription covers your scanner, and everyone at your location can use it.
Per Styku’s Terms of Service, if your paid subscription is terminated or expires, Styku may continue to make available Free Services, except in cases where the Agreement was terminated for cause.
How is the subscription structured?
Section titled “How is the subscription structured?”- One subscription per scanner. If you have two scanners at one location, you need two subscriptions.
- Billed per scanner, not per user. Any number of staff can operate a scanner under a single subscription. Staff accounts are unlimited on every plan.
- Billing starts after a deferral period. When you purchase a Styku scanner, billing does not begin immediately. Your subscription starts after a deferral period that begins once your scanner is delivered and activated. The length of this deferral is stated on your original purchase invoice.
What is included in each plan?
Section titled “What is included in each plan?”Every plan includes unlimited standard body scans, unlimited staff accounts, cloud storage for all scan data, ongoing software updates, the Business Portal and billing, Styku Academy certification, onboarding and training, and support. Both plans run the same scanner and deliver the same client experience.
Access — $199/mo
Section titled “Access — $199/mo”- Dashboard module: 150+ biometrics, body composition, circumferences, regional volumes and surface areas, Shape Score, trends, 3D viewer with before/after overlay
- Goal setting and projections, PDF scan reports, CSV and OBJ export
- Styku Mobile App and AI Guided Review for your clients
- Built-in payment gateway (card, FSA and HSA), wholesale credit packs
- Styku API Standard tier
- Any specialty module can be added for $100/mo ($50/mo for existing customers moving from a legacy plan)
Elite ($499/mo list price for new customers; existing customers moving from a legacy plan see $399/mo with a $100/mo legacy customer discount, so they pay $299/mo)
Section titled “Elite ($499/mo list price for new customers; existing customers moving from a legacy plan see $399/mo with a $100/mo legacy customer discount, so they pay $299/mo)”Everything in Access, plus three specialty modules:
- Aesthetics & Sculpting module (regional measurements, contouring goals, treatment-area inch loss)
- Fitness & Weight-Loss module (fat loss and muscle gain calculators, BMR, caloric deficit or surplus, macros, segmental analysis)
- Posture & Alignment module (shoulder and hip shift analysis, tilt tracking, before/after views)
- Styku API Pro tier (webhooks, asynchronous tasks, response caching, ID-based secure profile lookup)
Note on the Health Screen module: The Health Screen (Preventative Body Scan results including disease-risk indicators, Health Score, and Disease Risk report pages) is the fourth module in Elite but is currently available to HealthPass providers only. It is not yet available to other customers — in any country — and no release date has been announced. For non-HealthPass Elite subscribers, Elite currently includes the three specialty modules listed above. If you are a US-based customer and want access to the Health Screen now, you can inquire about becoming a HealthPass provider — that is the only route available today. HealthPass is a US-only program, so the Health Screen is not available outside the United States at this time.
Enterprise — custom pricing
Section titled “Enterprise — custom pricing”For multi-location networks, scoped with the sales team: everything in Elite plus the Enterprise API tier, Styku Leaderboard analytics, custom SLAs and a dedicated support channel.
For a detailed comparison, see What features are included in each Styku pricing plan? and What modules are available in Styku Studio and which plans include them?. If you are on a legacy plan (Growth Plan, Pro Plan, legacy Enterprise Plan), see Styku plan migration: what is changing, when it takes effect, and your options.
Styku Care is separate
Section titled “Styku Care is separate”Styku Care (extended hardware warranty, priority repairs and replacement, free two-way shipping) is a separate product with its own subscription. It is not included in any software plan.
Who is affected by the legacy plan migration?
Section titled “Who is affected by the legacy plan migration?”Customers on a legacy software plan (Growth Plan, Pro Plan, or legacy Enterprise Plan) who pay less than $219 a month and are not already on Access or Elite will be migrated to Elite at the legacy customer price of $299/month.
If you are already paying $219 a month or more for your software plan, you are not affected — you keep your current price and are not migrated.
When does the change take effect?
Section titled “When does the change take effect?”For customers who are being migrated, the new plan takes effect on your first billing date that falls 30 or more days after you receive your migration notice. The change is not prorated — it applies from that billing date forward.
What your invoice will show
Section titled “What your invoice will show”Migrated customers are placed on the Elite plan. Your invoice will show:
- Elite — $399/month
- Legacy customer discount — −$100/month
- Amount due — $299/month
If you see $399 on an invoice line, look for the legacy customer discount line immediately below it. That discount brings your actual charge to $299/month. If you do not see the discount line or believe the amount is incorrect, contact support with your invoice number.
How do I know which plan I have?
Section titled “How do I know which plan I have?”Log in to the Styku Business Portal at https://www.styku.com/portal. Your current subscription plan and billing details are listed there. Your original purchase invoice also states which plan was included with your order.
When did my billing start?
Section titled “When did my billing start?”Your billing start date is calculated from your scanner activation date plus the deferral period agreed to at the time of purchase. If you are unsure when your deferral period ended or why a charge appeared, locate your original invoice in the Business Portal. It shows the plan, activation date, and deferral terms.
What happens if I cancel early?
Section titled “What happens if I cancel early?”Per Styku’s Terms of Service, you may cancel your subscription early at any time; however, Styku will not provide any refunds of prepaid fees or unused Subscription Fees, and all unpaid fees through the end of your Current Term remain due immediately upon cancellation.
What if I enroll in the Consignment Program?
Section titled “What if I enroll in the Consignment Program?”Available to US customers only: The Consignment Program is limited to customers in the continental United States. If your scanner is located outside the USA, you are not eligible for the Consignment Program. Your option is to sell the hardware privately — the new owner contacts Styku, pays the one-time onboarding fee, and starts their own subscription, while you cancel your own subscription.
For customers in the continental United States: per Styku’s Consignment Program policy, enrolling in the consignment program ends your active Styku subscription. Any outstanding account balances must be resolved before Styku will accept the consignment order. Early cancellation fees continue to apply unless Styku has explicitly agreed otherwise in writing.
If this resolves your issue, no further action is needed.
If the problem persists, contact support and include: your business name and location, the email address associated with your Styku account, your license key or business location name (found in the Business Portal or on the printed user guide shipped with your scanner), and a copy of the invoice or charge you have questions about.
Applies to: Styku Studio, all Styku scanner models, all current subscription plans (Access, Elite)
