Does Styku measure bone density?
No. Styku does not measure clinical bone density — that’s a medical metric (grams of mineral per cm²) used to diagnose conditions like osteoporosis and requires a DEXA or quantitative-CT scan.
What Styku provides instead is Bone Mineral Content (BMC) — a wellness-tracking metric.
What Styku Provides: Bone Mineral Content (BMC)
Section titled “What Styku Provides: Bone Mineral Content (BMC)”Bone Mineral Content is the total weight (in lbs or kg) of the bone mineral in your torso. Think of it as the total amount of bone material in the core region of the body.
BMC appears as a part of the body composition results in Styku Studio and the scan report, presented alongside fat mass and lean mass to give a complete view of body composition.

- See changes over time — monitor how the total mineral content in your torso responds to nutrition and strength-training routines.
- Get a complete picture — view BMC alongside changes in muscle and fat mass to understand how body composition is evolving holistically.
- Stay motivated — use BMC as another data point alongside body fat, lean mass, and circumferences.
Bone mass values have no defined “good” or “bad” ranges — the goal is to keep them stable or improving over time, not to hit a specific number.
